1.1 PURPOSE OF PRACTICUM
To learn, share and adapt teaching strategy and improve our self both as a teacher and a human being. Also to learn about how are we teachers going to teach people in different diversity, races, language and religion. With this teacher are able to know different ways and strategies on how to teach every child in world despite of the differences.
1.2 PROCEDURES OF PRACTICUM
1. Preliminaries
This is were i let student pray, remind them with classroom rules and greetings.
2. Recap
Ask about what happen last meeting to assess if they learn something and able to connect it in the next topic
3. Lesson Proper
Presentation of new lessons or topic and activities.
4. Assessment
Seatwork or group activities that will serve as my way of knowing if they learn and able to adapt with the lesson
5. Assignment
This would serve as there review material at home and remember it in the next day
1.3. OUTCOME OF PRACTICUM
I learn a lot of things not just about teaching strategy and methods on teaching students but also managing students with different culture, races and religion. I also learn to value time during my practicum because it is one of my challenges during my teaching days. With this i became more organized in teaching.
1.4 CHALLENGES OF PRACTICUM
1. Time It is my biggest challenge because for me 30mins is fast and not enough to teach a topic. But in the end i am able to solve my problem and finish my discussion in the given time.
2. Language Sometimes when my student speak bahasa i dont really understand. But with this i am able to learn some easy words
1.5 OVERALL IMPRESSION
The practicum in Mutiara Persada or sea- teaching program is very succesful for me. It helps me a lot and develop my teaching skills and understand the importance of respecting peoples differences.
1.6 SUGGESTION FOR IMPROVEMENT
To the school:
1. Increase the time of observation and discussion. So teacher could be more prepare and learn more during observation.
2. The teacher should try more strategies and used instructional materials.
3. Conduct fun activities connected to the lesson.
To SEAMEO:
1. Add the practicum days. So it would be more worth it.
2. Make a test that assess the sea-teachers ability to speak english which serve our universal language. Teacher should be atleast 50% fluent in speaking. So the student could learn right english words from the teacher and able them to communicate well.
